Chocolate Fountain Ideas for Weddings

Sujata Iyer
How about experimenting with some chocolate fountain ideas for your wedding and making it more memorable than it will already be for you? You game? Well then, just proceed with this article.
You know what's the most anticipated part of a wedding celebration for guests? For some it may be the ceremony itself while for some it could be the first dance or the throwing of the bouquet. But for most, and I repeat most, it's the glorious food that weddings have to offer. And it's true, so one shouldn't have any qualms accepting it.
Weddings bring with them the extremely high expectation of utterly scrumptious culinary delights that our taste buds want to be teased with. But even after the meal, there's one thing that still continues to make us long and pine for it.
It's the gorgeous, glistening fountain of molten chocolate, flowing down ever so smoothly. Oh! What we wouldn't do to go take a dip in the divine darkness of molten chocolate. Sigh!
Anyway, before I get too carried away by the mere idea of the mouth-watering chocolate fountain, let me share with you some interesting chocolate fountain ideas to use for weddings. They're simple, yet extremely enticing to anyone with even half a sweet tooth.

Fruits and Nuts

Let's begin with one of the most traditional ideas for chocolate fountains at weddings. If you've seen some of them, you've probably seen an assortment of fruits in trays around the fountain. This idea is somewhat similar except that for this one, you pick absolutely any kind of fruits.
Don't think only of the cliche strawberries. Think apples, oranges, peaches, mangoes and any other kind of small fruits that are available during that season when the wedding is on. Another thing that you can do is, section the trays into two parts, one for the fruits, and the other for some delicious nuts!
Almonds, peanuts, walnuts, cashews, hazelnuts, etc. - choose whatever nuts you can get your hands on and ones you know will go well with the kind of chocolate in the fountain. Ummmmm... yummmmy!

Cakes Galore!

Here's one of my favorite wedding chocolate fountain ideas. Since I was a kid, I haven't really been a huge fan of chocolate cake (surprised??). But give me a plain sponge cake and some chocolate syrup, and I'm all set for a half hour of pure, unadulterated, sinful bliss.
So, for your wedding, if you don't want to overindulge in the chocolate cake, you can simply place some plain cupcakes in trays around the fountain. People will just have to pick one up, dip it in the fountain and lose themselves in the wondrous flavor! You can also keep small pastries and donuts for people to dip and eat.

Breads and Buns

All you need for your chocolate fountain to be a hit is a little creativity and a little resourcefulness. This one will prove that point to you. I don't really know about all of you, but I truly appreciate a healthy slice of bread covered with a generous amount of totally unhealthy chocolate spread! So why not use this idea at your wedding too? If you're too health conscious, keep an assortment of healthy miniature breads in pretty baskets around the chocolate fountain. The sugar and salt combination will be enough to make anyway sigh in pure pleasure!

I Scream for Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream, for ICE CREAM! Well, who doesn't, right? And the screaming gets fierce when melting chocolate's added to the equation. So, to give your guests a purely indulgent dessert, keep cones or candies of ice cream in a freezer near the chocolate fountain and ask them to simply dunk it under it to get a lovely dollop of molten chocolate on the ice cream! (Smackilicious! Anyone?)
Well, I'm sure you can think of some more creative chocolate fountain ideas for weddings and other occasions too, to make the eating process a tad more enjoyable, not to mention indulgent, for everyone present. You can choose a flavor that you think will be liked by all and include chocolate chips, caramel, a combination of flavors, etc., whatever you want to entice your guests to go towards the cascading chocolate fountain! Once they're there, there's nothing to worry about! That's what chocolate can do to you!
