The invitees can give their blessings to the newly weds and at the same time, enjoy the beautiful breeze under the bright sunshine in an outdoor wedding. On top of that, planning a rustic wedding is not as difficult as it is made out to be.
Although, it does require a bit more of an effort, yet, a special day like your wedding day does deserve something extraordinary. Right?

Rustic Wedding Ideas

Green, orange, yellow and brown - these are the colors associated with a rustic outdoor wedding. All these colors remind one of nature, sunshine, flowers, countryside and beauty, which are the hallmarks of the wedding. So, whether it is decorations or invitations, make use of these colors as much as possible.
Also, if you want to plan your wedding after a theme, then the most popular themes to choose from are - harvest, autumn, apple, birds and western theme.

Venue

Nothing can beat the charm of a wedding planned at a barn. You can have both the ceremony as well as your reception at the barn. Although, you would need to make a lot of efforts on finding the right barn, yet, the effort will be worth it. Other than this, a hill top, is another good venue.

Invitations

The invitations should be designed in such a way that they serve as a prelude to the guests about the theme. You can easily find such invitations on the Internet. The invitations for such a wedding should be in orange or green color.
A flower, leaf, or branches of trees on the front side will lend them an artistic feel, plus create an all natural aura. Again, choose colors like yellow, green and orange for the invitations, as suggested above.

Decorations

The decorations can be casual, elegant and fun, depending upon the way you plan them. Some of the things that you can use for decorations are leaves, flowers, hay, tree barks, pine cones, lanterns, candles, flowerpots, amongst others. For the centerpieces, lanterns with a candle inside, surrounded by flowers on all sides, is a unique idea, which you can use.
Mason jars filled with various kinds of flowers, particularly sunflowers and daisies, is a great floral arrangement for your wedding. Watering cans and galvanized cans are some other options you have for planning the décor.
To lend romance to the wedding venue, hang a few lanterns, bird cages and floral arrangements from the trees. If it's a closed venue, hang the same from the walls.

Attire

The clothing for a rustic wedding should be cool and casual. Free-flowing, soft, breathing fabrics should be chosen for the dresses of the bridesmaids, maid of honor as well as the bride herself. The groom and the groomsmen should be dressed in a formal suit.

Menu

The menu should be full of traditional dishes cooked at home. Cakes, cookies, cupcakes, salads, barbecues - these are a must have in the menu.
Cheeses, corns, dry fruits like walnuts and almonds, fresh fruits, chicken, pork, green beans, risottos and various kinds of breads, these are some of the items that your food menu should be made of. If it's a dinner reception, vegetable dips with cocktails is a great idea.

Entertainment

If the wedding is in a barn, you can arrange for a dance floor. Planning hayrides, horse rides, making your guests participate in pumpkin carving events and having a vintage photo booth where the invitees can get their pictures clicked - these are some of the fun ideas for entertainment.

Favors

Preferably, favors for a rustic outdoor wedding should be homemade. Christmas ornaments, bookmarks made from scrap, homemade decorative candles, homemade jams, you can choose from any of these and make your guest's day. A very cute favor can be mini baskets with homemade cookies of various shapes and sizes in it. Leaf and flower shaped cookies would look awesome!
As you can see, there are so many things that you can incorporate in your wedding to make it special and unique. Besides the ones suggested above, use your own creativity to come up with décor and entertainment that defines you. After all, it is your big day and hence, each and everything should speak of you!
